Kelham Island Museum – Christmas Market

It’s very nearly the most wonderful time of the year… When the cider and wine are hot and mulled, the air is lightly scented with aromas of orange and cinnamon, and the mince pies are bubbling away in the oven. Yes, it’s almost Christmas time, and with Christmas comes Christmas markets. Perhaps the best-loved in Sheffield is the annual Victorian Christmas Market which takes place at Kelham Island Museum, and this year is extra special because they’ll be celebrating their 25th anniversary.

The dates to pop in your diary are Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of December when the market will be on from 10am ‘til 7pm and 10am ‘til 5pm respectively. During the weekend you’ll be greeted with a warm Dickensian welcome and invited to explore and enjoy the family fairground, music hall stage, traditional crafts and skills, and the Santa Industries Co. grotto and reindeer.

And of course, there’ll be over one hundred and twenty market stalls brimming with food, drink and Christmas gifts for you to discover throughout the museum. Tickets are just £6 each for adults and it’s free entry for children. So be sure to join Kelham Island Museum for a mulled wine and a mince pie, and raise your glass to another twenty-five years.
