Union St: Seedbed for Something Good

Union St is a space for people to come together, meet new people & learn new skills, so it already hosts a range of regular events, including Neighbourhood Voices alternative choir (Tue), Chigung (Wed), Yoga (Tue & Thu), Acorn Sheffield #RentersRising weekly organising meeting (Wed), Food Growing Workshops (first Thu of month) & loads more.

The monthly ‘Give It A Crack’ series also gives Sheffield folk the chance to try something they’ve always wanted to, starting on Saturday 20th January with three workshops in woodworking, African drumming and improv comedy.

Somehow, there’s still space for more, so the good people at Union St have put together a package for people who want to start something of their own, including an initial cost-free hire period and flexible hire thereafter, support with graphic design, video interviews, marketing and promotion for your new event series.

It’s all about community, collective wellbeing and a sense of purpose – lofty ideals we wholeheartedly endorse. For those wanting to get involved with existing events & groups, Common Thread clothing exchange & Turning Earth’s Vegan Breakfast Club may be good places to start but other regular events will no doubt be open to new faces too.

If you want to start an event at Union St, get in touch.
