Cafe Euro on the Look Out for Partners & Investors

Cafe Euro – the Hidden Gem; let’s create more!

“A proper coffee shop is all about the building and the people, there’s got to be real character about it. You feel that you belong there. It’s a little cliched, but it’s like that song from Cheers. A place where everyone knows your name. A place where there’s a certain bit of magic that you just don’t get in the large chains.”

After a lot of the hard work, Cafe Euro is now well established to the extent that it is looking to develop and looking for new partners and investors to help move the business on. The plan is to open a number of coffee shops that will act as satellites to the John Street cafe with the aim of these shops becoming hubs in their own local communities.

“Whoever manages the cafes will be part of their local community. I see it as the cafe being a bit like the local pubs used to be. A place that people love to go and where they can meet friends and family, read the paper and have a look at a noticeboard that covers local events.”

Simon is keen to hear from anyone who is interested in becoming part of the Cafe Euro community. If anyone emails him, he will pass on more details. His idea is to have each unit run by a manager/ community group who will get a percentage of the profits, as will the staff. He hopes this will create a sense of ownership as well as helping local charities.

“It would be especially great if the people who worked in the cafes lived in that area. This would help people create a hub for their own community.”
