SHEFFIELD FILMMAKERS SHOOTING A SHORT IN VENICE, ITALY!
A group of ambitious filmmakers and crew are going to be shooting short film The Girl and the Gondola in Venice, Italy.
The film focuses on a young girl, Carla, who dreams of becoming a gondolier like her father, even though it is a famously male-dominated profession.
This doesn’t stop Carla.
Written and soon-to-be directed by Abbe Robinson, the film is being produced by the South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network and producer Rob Speranza,who has just been to Venice in the previous week setting things up for the shoot.
It is anticipated that the film will be completed in early 2012. It could pave the road for a longer feature film that would tell a similar story.
