Peace in the Park Festival 2011

Well hello there festival goers of the Steel City. It’s that time again!

As you’ll know if you’ve ever read a Now Then magazine around this time of year before, we love Peace in the Park, and with good reason. It’s free to attend, it showcases the best local talent and some gems from around the country too and all profits go to charity as well.

More than that though, Peace in the Park has it’s own special magic. Tough to put your finger on but felt by all and sundry nevertheless. The stall holders all comment on what a lovely event it is to sell their wares at, the stewards rarely find trouble and the party atmosphere extends its good will to small children and aging stalwarts alike.

You may also know that for years Now Then and Opus Independents have curated a stage at the event; you’ll find us just up from the main stage by the Peace lettering. For stage line ups check out the May edition of Now Then magazine. This year however we’re pleased as punch to say we are also curating the stalls for the event and it’s wonderful to work with people from so many different backgrounds.

Peace in the Park is known for it’s charity connections of course and they’ll be out in force from Greenpeace to the Ramblers Association, but there will also be a plethora of local traders for you to peruse along with food ranging from burritos to Indian delicacies and more ice cream flavours than you can shake a cone at.

There’s still time to get involved in this magical extravaganza of awesomeness.
